Canada Locum is run by a veterinarian who has been a locum vet since 1997 in Canada, the US and internationally.
My bio: I enjoy working as a locum mainly in small animal practice, but also in emergency, research, volunteer, zoo and wildlife. For the past ten years I have been the staff veterinarian at the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society. I also enjoy my occasional role in a teaching capacity. I have worked both as a locum and as an employee, depending on the job and the situation. My passion is being useful to practice owners and finding a connection with their staff. After hearing “don’t you know anybody else who can locum for me?” for the fifth time one week, I decided to extend my services to help locums and veterinarians connect. When I am not growing my business or working, I am working towards my Certificate in Professional Management, playing with my two young boys, going to Zumba! or enjoying the outdoors.
Canada Locum fills a need for clinics who need short or long term relief, and for vets who want a simple way to find work, either as a locum or in a full time position. Some vets may use Canada Locum as a means for “working holidays” to combine work with play. We specialize in maternity leave coverage, an ever increasing need in the veterinary industry. Locums are also a great way for clinics and vets to test each other out to see if it is a good match for a long term committment.
My mission is to provide a personalized, professional service to ease the work of finding a quality, compatible locum.
